General health and safety training
Each department or unit is responsible for its own general health and safety training and for the accumulation of the requisite amount of training hours.

 1. Overview of laws and regulations governing operational health and safety
 2. Occupational health and safety and guidelines for the workplace
 3. Checks to make before, during, and after your work
 4. Standard operating procedures
 5. Responding to emergencies
 6. Basic firefighting and first aid
 7. Other operational health and safety information

Required training hours
 
New employees and current employees prior to changing roles are assigned a minimum of three hours of training according to their specific requirements. An additional three hours of training is required for employees that use production machinery or equipment, automotive manufacturing machinery, mobile elevating work platforms, or winches, work in environments with risk of hypoxia, or do welding. An additional three hours of training is also required for employees involved in the manufacturing, disposal, or use of dangerous chemicals.
